Petaluma, CA - After a drive out to the North Bay Rowing Club, the Hornets prepared for the third head race of the fall season. With some new competition entered in the races that they had not raced against this fall, the crews set out on the water. The course had many more turns and twists than the previous races, and had a fair breeze and current throughout the day. The Hornets were entered into the Men's 4+, Pair, and 8+.

The Men's 4+ was comprised of Varsity rowers, and faced two Sonoma State crews and a crew from Chico State. This race was earlier in the morning and had incredible water conditions. The Hornets moved through a Sonoma crew in the first half of the race to come to a first place finish.

Sacramento State had two pairs entered to race today. The constant twists and S-turns proved challenging to all the pairs. Both pairs overtook all opposing pairs and came into a 1st and 2nd place finish.

The Men's 8+ had two entries of novice boats. The novices were racing both novice and varsity crews from the other schools. Some equipment problems challenged the novices, but they were able to handle the situations and maintain a calm collective through the boat.

The next race is Saturday, October 29th, At Lake Natoma. Be sure to come out and support.
